ZOO BREAK! Privacy Policy
How ZOO BREAK! handles your data.
Last updated:
ZOO BREAK! (“the game”) is made by Snowcode, the trade name of Sergi Lázaro Pueyo (Spanish tax ID 25366475M), who is responsible for your information (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information is collected when you play ZOO BREAK! on your phone or tablet, why it is collected, who handles it, and the choices you have.
ZOO BREAK! is made for players aged 10 to 18, so we’ve kept it simple: the game never asks who you are, and what it collects is about how the game is played, not about you.
The short version
- You don’t need an account to play, and we never ask for your name, email address, age, contacts, photos or location.
- Your progress is saved on your device. We don’t run servers, and the game never sends your progress to us.
- The game uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count how it’s played, such as how long runs last and which animals are picked. It doesn’t use your advertising ID, your name or any account, and it isn’t used for ads.
- On Android, if you have a Google Play Games profile, the game uses it for leaderboards and achievements. It’s optional: the game works the same without it.
- The game shows ads through Google AdMob, and they are always non-personalized: every ad request is marked as directed at children, so nobody who plays gets personalized ads or remarketing.
- Purchases are handled by Google Play or the App Store. We never see your payment details.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
Information stored on your device
The game saves the following on your device only:
- your coins, the animals you’ve unlocked and the one you picked last;
- your records, stickers, challenges, upgrades and what your animals are wearing;
- your settings, such as music, sound effects, graphics quality and frame rate;
- what you’ve bought, such as “No ads”, skins and trails, so it works without a connection;
- when the last ads were shown and how many free-coin videos you’ve watched today, so ads stay within the limits described below;
- a picture of your result, created only when you choose to share it.
This information stays on your device: only what’s described below, in game statistics and in leaderboards and achievements, leaves it. Deleting the game deletes it.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
ZOO BREAK! is free to play and paid for by ads and optional purchases. Ads never interrupt the action:
- a full-screen ad appears when you leave the end-of-game screen, never during play;
- rewarded videos are optional and only play when you choose to watch one, for example to get a second chance, to double the coins from a game or to get free coins.
Every ad request tells Google that the game is directed at children and that the player is under the age of consent, and asks only for ads suitable for all ages. Because of this, Google doesn’t show personalized ads or remarketing in the game and doesn’t use your device’s advertising identifier to personalize ads.
To show ads, limit how often you see the same one, measure them and prevent fraud, Google AdMob may still collect:
- your IP address and the approximate location (country or region) it indicates;
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language and app version;
- how you interact with ads, for example whether an ad was shown or tapped.
See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Game statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how the game is played and make it better, the game uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a Google service. It counts:
- when the game is opened and how long you play, which tells us how many players come back;
- what happens in each run: the animal, how it ended, the points, how long it lasted, the chaos level, the best combo, the coins earned, and whether it was the Daily City or Free Mode;
- the rewarded videos you ask for and whether you watched them, and the coins you earn and spend;
- purchases made through Google Play (the product and its price);
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language and app version, and the approximate location (country, region or city) that your IP address indicates. Google Analytics doesn’t store the IP address.
Firebase links this to a random identifier for this installation of the game. It isn’t your advertising ID or your device ID, and the game doesn’t send your name, your email address, any account or anything you type. Game statistics aren’t used for ads: advertising, ad personalization and Google Signals are turned off for them.
We only look at this as statistics, for example how many runs end in a capture, to fix problems and balance the game. Google processes it on our behalf, under its data processing terms. Detailed data is kept for 2 months, the shortest period Google Analytics allows, and is then deleted; only the statistics remain.
Leaderboards and achievements (Google Play Games and Game Center)
On Android, if you have a Google Play Games profile, the game signs in with it when it starts, without asking for a password, so it can post your best scores to the leaderboards and unlock your achievements. The game receives your Play Games player ID and uses it only for that; it never sees your email address or your Google Account details.
Google Play Games is run by Google under its own privacy policy. Depending on your Play Games profile settings, other players may see your gamer name, avatar and scores on the leaderboards. You can change who sees your profile, or delete your Play Games profile and its data, in the Google Play Games app or in your Google Account.
It’s optional: without a Play Games profile, or if you don’t sign in, the game works exactly the same, just without leaderboards and achievements.
On iPhone and iPad, Apple’s Game Center does the same, under Apple’s privacy policy.
Purchases
You can make optional one-off purchases: No ads, which removes the full-screen ads (rewarded videos stay available if you want them), and cosmetic skins and trails. Purchases only change how your animal looks or remove ads; there are no loot boxes or random rewards, and you always see exactly what you get.
Purchases are processed by Google Play on Android and by the App Store on iPhone and iPad. They handle your payment details, and we never see them. The game receives a confirmation of what was bought (the product and a purchase reference) so it can unlock it, and so Restore purchases can bring it back if you reinstall the game.
Sharing your result
When you tap Share, the game creates a picture of your result and a short line of text, and hands them to your device’s share menu. Nothing leaves your device unless you pick an app to share with, and what happens next depends on that app.
Information from Google Play and the App Store
Google Play and the App Store give developers statistics, such as the number of installs, countries and ratings, and crash and performance reports. Google and Apple collect this information under their own privacy policies; crash reports are only sent if you allowed your device to share diagnostics. We only see it as statistics, and we use it to fix bugs and make the game run better.
Who receives information
The only companies that receive information from the game are:
- Google, for AdMob ads, Google Analytics for Firebase, Google Play Games, Google Play purchases and Google Play statistics;
- Apple, for App Store purchases and statistics and Game Center, if you play on iPhone or iPad.
Google and Apple may process information outside the European Union, under the safeguards described in their policies, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
We don’t sell your personal information and don’t share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
Your choices
- Full-screen ads: buy No ads to remove them. Rewarded videos only play when you choose.
- Advertising ID on Android: reset or delete it in your device’s settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads). The game doesn’t use it to personalize ads.
- Game statistics: if you’d rather not be counted, contact us. Deleting the game also deletes its Firebase identifier, and a new installation gets a new one.
- Leaderboards and achievements: you don’t need Play Games or Game Center to play. You can choose who sees your profile, or delete it, in Play Games or Game Center.
- Purchases: parents can require approval for every purchase with Google Family Link on Android or Ask to Buy on iPhone and iPad.
- Everything on your device: delete the game.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some US states such as California, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information about you is processed;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to or restrict how it’s used;
- withdraw consent you have given.
Where EU or UK law applies, non-personalized ads, game statistics and store statistics rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the game free, working and improving. Leaderboards and achievements rely on our legitimate interest in offering them to players who use Play Games or Game Center. Purchases rely on the contract to deliver what you bought.
Because the game has no accounts of its own, we usually can’t connect information to you personally. Still, contact us and we’ll help with any request, including passing it on to Google or Apple. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In Spain, that’s the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Children and teenagers
ZOO BREAK! is meant for players aged 10 to 18, including children under 13. That’s why:
- the game doesn’t ask for personal information: there are no accounts of its own, no chat and no online play, so players can’t share personal information with anyone through the game. Leaderboards only show scores, with the name and avatar of the player’s Play Games or Game Center profile;
- game statistics don’t use the advertising ID and aren’t used for ads;
- all ads are non-personalized and suitable for all ages, and come from Google AdMob, which is certified for Google Play’s Families program;
- ads only appear outside the action, and videos only play when the player chooses;
- purchases are confirmed in Google Play or the App Store, with a parent’s approval if it’s turned on.
In the United States, Google handles these child-directed ad requests in line with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
If a player is under the age of digital consent in their country, a parent or guardian can make any request on their behalf. If you believe a child has given us personal information, for example by email, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The game has no accounts or passwords of its own, and we don’t run servers that store information about you. Information sent to Google and Apple travels over encrypted connections and is protected by their security measures.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date above. If a change is significant, we’ll also mention it in the game’s update notes.
