Slime Merge Privacy Policy
How Slime Merge handles your data.
Last updated:
Slime Merge (“the game”) is made by Snowcode (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information is collected when you play Slime Merge on iPhone, iPad or Android, why it is collected, who handles it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You don’t need an account, and we never ask for your name, email address, contacts or photos.
- Your progress and scores are saved on your device.
- The game shows ads through Google AdMob and measures how it is played through Google Analytics for Firebase. Both collect device and usage information, described below.
- Weekly leaderboards run on Apple Game Center (iOS) and Google Play Games (Android), and only when you’re signed in to them.
- On iPhone and iPad, ads are only personalized if you allow tracking when the game asks. Saying no doesn’t change the game at all.
- We don’t run our own servers, and we don’t sell your personal information.
Information stored on your device
The game saves the following on your device only:
- your current board, score, best score and the biggest slime you’ve reached;
- the time the last full-screen ad was shown, so that these ads appear at most once every 10 minutes;
- a picture of your final board, created only when you choose to share a result.
This information is never sent to us. Deleting the game deletes it.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
Slime Merge is free and paid for by ads. It shows a full-screen ad between games (at most once every 10 minutes) and an optional rewarded ad when you choose to watch one for a rescue shake.
The ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may collect:
- your device’s advertising identifier: on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking; on Android, the Android advertising ID;
- your IP address and the approximate location it indicates;
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system, language and app version;
- how you interact with ads, for example whether an ad was shown or tapped.
Google uses this information to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, prevent fraud and, where you allow it, show ads that are more relevant to you. See Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the game is played and to make it better, for example to find out how far players usually get or whether a change made the game too hard. It collects:
- a random identifier created for each installation of the game;
- device model, operating system version, language, app version, and the country or region your IP address indicates;
- when you open the game, for how long, and when it was installed or updated;
- gameplay events:
- your score at the end of each game;
- each new biggest slime you reach;
- when you share a result;
- when you open the leaderboard;
- when you use a rescue shake.
On iPhone and iPad, Analytics does not access the advertising identifier. On Android, it may use the Android advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in your device settings.
We look at this information as statistics, for example “how many games reached the tenth slime this week”, not to identify individual players. Google keeps it for a limited period set in our Analytics account and then deletes it automatically. See Privacy and security in Firebase.
Leaderboards (Game Center and Google Play Games)
If you’re signed in to Apple Game Center or Google Play Games, the game sends your score at the end of each game to the weekly leaderboard. Other players can see your score along with your Game Center or Play Games player name and picture. Apple and Google handle this information under their own privacy policies:
We don’t receive your player profile. If you’re not signed in, nothing is sent.
Sharing your result
When you tap Share, the game creates a picture of your board and a short line of text, and hands them to your device’s share menu. Nothing leaves your device unless you pick an app to share with, and what happens next depends on that app. If you choose to save the picture on iPhone or iPad, iOS asks for permission to add it to your photos. The game can only add pictures and never reads your photo library.
Tracking on iPhone and iPad
The game asks for permission to track through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you allow it, AdMob can use your device’s advertising identifier to show more relevant ads. If you don’t, ads are not personalized using that identifier, and the game plays exactly the same. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Who receives information
The only companies that receive information from the game are:
- Google, for AdMob, Firebase and Google Play Games;
- Apple, for Game Center.
We don’t sell your personal information and don’t share it with anyone else, unless the law requires us to.
Your choices
- Ads on iPhone and iPad: turn tracking on or off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Ads and analytics on Android: reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your device’s settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads, or Settings → Google → Ads).
- Leaderboards: sign out of Game Center or Google Play Games to stop sending scores.
- Everything on your device: delete the game.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some US states such as California, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information about you is processed;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- object to or restrict how it’s used;
- withdraw consent you have given.
Where EU or UK law applies, personalized ads rely on your consent. Analytics and non-personalized ads rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the game free, working and improving.
Because the game has no accounts, we usually can’t connect information to you personally. Still, contact us and we’ll help with any request, including passing it on to Google or Apple. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Slime Merge is not directed at children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law of your country. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we’ll help remove it.
Security
The game has no accounts or passwords, and we don’t run servers that store information about you. Information sent to Google and Apple travels over encrypted connections and is protected by their security measures.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, we’ll also mention it in the game’s update notes.
